earthshine

all-consuming.

a celebration of shared perspective.
the sheer scale of our insignificance captured by the fact that we lack even the eyes to view it.

it’s pinholed and past-tense, sure
even still, our exuberance has a sense of humility to it
and our eyes contract against this backdrop despite of it

a shadow of otherness descending upon a city that’s starving for togetherness.

in this moment, i’m thankful for the cosmic equation that set this event in play
because right now we’re all smiling at the same dark sun, envisioning brighter days
